Rather than a standard massage, each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, giving more attention where it is most needed.
Adding different varieties of techniques will help you to gain maximum benefit from every treatment.
At JFit Studio we recommend sports massage to athletes who are competing in sport activities and also to those people who leading very active fitness lifestyle or having intense regular trainings, as sports massage helps to increase flexibility, prevent injuries, and treat existing injuries or strains.
Sports massage is not a relaxing form of massage and can often involve brisk invigorating strokes especially during pre-event treatments.
This treatment is usually done immediately before your competition or intensive training and it can be 30 minutes to 24 hours before, although best practice is just before the event to complement the warm up. Massage would usually be in timeframe of 10-20 minutes. Techniques in this treatments are fast-paced to stimulate blood flow, flush the system, and reduce resistance. Brisk invigorating variations of strokes are used to specific muscles as per sport. We start with light pressure, gradually increase speed. Deep tissue work is usually contraindicated during a pre-event massage.
In strength related sports, we concentrate on the specific muscles used.
In endurance sports, we concentrate on overall energy and flexibility.
This treatment is usually done immediately after competition or your training – 30 minutes up to 24 hours.
Best practice is up to 4 hours to aid with muscle soreness and to check for any potential injuries. The purpose of the post-event sports massage is to help you to recover from your high-intensity exercise.
Incorporating maintenance treatment into your training routine can help to loosen muscles that have been overworked and identify any problems that may be building up before they start to impact on your performance. Maintenance treatment can benefit everyone, not just athletes. It can benefit anyone who finds themselves doing repetitive movements that over time increase muscle tension and can lead to pain.
